Understanding Anxiety:
Not all anxiety is bad; it is our body’s signal that a threat is underway and tells our body to gear up so we can either fight or flight. Fight flight freeze response to outside stimuli. These responses happen in the oldest part of our brain; It helps to protect us from danger. Anxiety is our body responding to the stress hormones. Anxiety becomes disordered when it’s prolonged and affects an individual’s ability to function in their daily life. Constant fight, flight, or freeze mode. Too much stress hormones get secreted and cause us to constantly have physical and cognitive reactions. Thus understanding anxiety is very important.
