“Our ability to be present in the here and now can make a difference in how we perceive our tomorrow. Being present now will help us realize that the tomorrow we have pictured and imagined is already starting—right here, right now. Our tomorrow can actually be today”

Seeds in an Apple: Seeds of Hope & Healing
Seeds in an Apple: Seeds of Hope & Healing5 hours ago
One of the principles I highlighted to groups of teenagers, a.k.a adults in training, that I spoke to on two separate occasions recently, is that of consent…

That their body is theirs.

That there’s a difference between a trusted adult and an adult using their authority to exploit their naïveté.

That no one, NO ONE, gets to touch them in any way, without their express consent.

That they have all the right to refuse anyone invading their personal space.

That unless they are in blatant danger, or that they’re endangering themselves or others, they have the final say when it comes to their body.

When we teach our young people early on, about consent and the principle of being the owners of their bodies, we can help educate them about the dangers of sexual abuse and learn to spot red flags, so would-be perpetrators would have little to no influence on them.

We need to make these conversations part of our normal everyday discussions.

Protect our youth by teaching them to protect their bodies, speak up against any form of body exploitation, and stand up to anyone trying to take advantage of their young minds.

Peace and love ❤️
